 Current Prayer Requests

Copiapo River Valley : Kip and Iva Kimbrough

Thank you for praying for the volunteers that came from Cary First Baptist Church, March 17 - 23, the week before Easter. Your prays were evident. Kip and Iva write, "Things have been going really well this week - Doors have been opened at two different schools and there are now opportunities for us to return to these schools - The Bible Club held on the afternoon of Good Friday was excellent, about 50 children, adults and youth heard the Gospel. And on Saturday there were about 60-70 children, youth, and adults at that Bible Club. Easter Sunday began with high attendance at Sunday Schools and concluded with a jam-packed church service that was wonderful! For more information on the mission trip click here.

Huasco River Valley : Bryan and Deana Wolf

A few drops of water can go a long way in the amazingly arid Atacama desert.  The first week of March, following the hottest and driest month of the year, a volunteer team visited this challenging region. They were able to bring good news of God’s gift of Living Water to a people living in a spiritual wilderness.  Please pray for the Wolf family in the Huasco valley as they follow up on those that made decisions for Life.

Elqui River Valley (La Serena) : Jerry and Kathleen Coy

April 5 and 6 will be a special weekend for approximately 90 to 100 people from El Retiro church in La Serena, Chile.  This church reaches out to professionals, one of the country’s least evangelized groups.  This particular weekend missionary Jerry Coy will coordinate a team with several national leaders as they seek to encourage and  motivate both new converts and more mature Christians.  Please pray for the retreat.  Ask God to protect those attending, to stir hearts for missions, and to bless El Retiro church as they learn to reach out and start new groups.

Please pray for Jerry Coy as he trains a group of seven lay leaders to lead, teach, and preach in both small groups and in a larger congregational setting.  These leaders are professionals, very busy during the work week, but feel called to shepherd their peers and to be used by God in Kingdom work.  Pray for spiritual protection, for motivation during challenges, and for excitement as they experience God’s blessing.  Especially ask God to develop in them a missionary heart.

Praise God for the new church in Paihuano. This church had been a mission for many years, but in the past few years has really matured and grown and in December they formally constituted and became a church. Pray that God will use them in a mighty way to reach the Elqui Valley for Christ (see Donna Mae's newsletter).

Fishing Villages : Donna Mae Bobby

Pray that the church planting team that goes to Algarrobito will be able to find a place to meet for worship. A number of people have come to the Lord in the past two years, but no suitable place has been found for them to all get together and worship our Lord (see Donna Mae's newsletter).

Pray for the fishing village of San Pedro and the church building that they are building. Pray for missionary Donna Mae Bobby and the members of First Baptist Church La Serena as they provide leadership and free labor in the construction.

Iquique : Lee and Cathy Zwink

Please pray for Lee and Cathy Zwink and the Shalom House Church. Two of the families participating in the church moved away recently, but God is already bringing new families to the church! Please pray specifically for God to bring someone to work with the children in the church.
